Not like we know them. Especially in the big cities where usually many people gather on squares to buy beverages and gifts. This year's christmas might be a little smaller when it comes to traditional markets.
This year, due to the pandemic, the Christmas celebrations in Prague will be limited, there will be no traditional large markets and events. Restrictions will also be on markets in Brno - for example, stallholders will have to ensure distance between each other. However, people will not have to miss the traditional big trees, for example on the Old Town Square.
Markets in the city centre normally take place from the end of November until the beginning of January. In addition to Old Town Square, markets are also on Wenceslas Square, Náměstí Míru and other places in Prague.
In Brno, craft and sales stalls will stand in squares and streets with safe distances. However, it is not yet certain whether there will be a trdelník, a punch or other food and drinks. The organizers will decide according to the situation at the end of November.
