Second study confirms few people in Czechia came into contact with the infection. The number of confirmed cases yesterday rose to 10,000.
2.37% of people in the Strakonice district and 1.2% people in the Písek district tested positive for the presence of antibodies. The results come from a cross-sectional study organized by the South Bohemian Region which included 1,000 participants in each district. Half of them were frontline workers - such as firefighters, paramedics, saleswomen or drivers. The other half consisted of volunteers.
The numbers are higher than the results of a previous study of collective immunity. Among 26,549 tested in Prague, Brno, Litoměřice and the Olomouc district in April, only 107 people had a positive antibodies test. However, the samples taken at the beginning of May in Písek and Strakonice were processed using a different method and according to the organizers cannot be simply recalculated for the entire population.
